Legislation and Compliance

Businesses operating within the credit and financial services industries have to comply with many different pieces of legislation and regulatory frameworks. All these acts and regulations place huge requirements on businesses to comply and meet the demands of the various Regulatory Bodies. BSI offers a variety of workshops and online courses that cover the most important legislation and regulations that regulate these sectors, namely the National Credit Act (NCA) and Amendments Act (NCAA), the NCR Affordability Guidelines, and the Regulations on the allowed rates and fees that can be charged under this Act. Other legislation we provide training on includes the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), Consumer Protection Act (CPA), Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS), and the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA), to name a few. We also offer a qualification for those individuals who want to become Compliance Officers.

  • complain to the Information Regulator.

    It can take us up to 21 days to respond to your request because there are procedures that we need to follow. In some instances, we may ask you for proof of your identity or a valid proof of residence.
